What a joy this painting was! I had the pleasure of going home with my college friend for our winter break back in 2003-04 when I was a sophomore at Oklahoma Baptist University working toward my BFA in Studio Art. Her parents lived in Viterbo, somewhat close to Rome. For 6 weeks, we traveled through Italy and I took reference photos for a painting series that would gain me an Independent Study credit. This was a part of that series - 5 doors, 2 windows, and 1 large "double door" painting completed it. This was one of my favorites of the series with it's pale pink and turquoise tones - it has also been the most popular print.
